Peter Heard '80

Peter also received an MBA from Rensselaer University in 1985.

He joined The Travelers in 1984 in the Asset Management area. In 1988 he was asked to participate in the Financial Management Leadership Program – a three year job and academic program designed for future leaders of the company. After graduating from that program in 1990 he joined the National Accounts department where he is now Regional Vice President for the New England, upstate New York, and Canada operations. Prior to joining The Travelers, he spent three years at the Industrial Risk Insurance Company.

Peter is a past president of the Spencer Educational Foundation, Inc. and continues to be an active board member. The mission of Spencer is to stimulate, promote and encourage promising students of risk management (insurance) disciplines by supporting them in fulfilling their educational goals.

Peter lives with his wife, Beth, and son Matthew, a current college student. When not engaged in professional pursuits, Peter enjoys many sports including ultimate Frisbee, golf, softball, and skiing.
